AIBO, developed by Sony, was released in 1999 as a robotic pet that could learn and mature based on interactions with its environment and its owner.
AIBO exhibited behaviors and learning processes that mimicked a real dog to some extent, using artificial intelligence to develop its personality over time.
This made AIBO one of the first commercially available devices that used AI to emulate a dog's behavior dynamically.
